We are pleased to announce we shall soon begin migrating all existing customers to our new server, Virgo.
Virgo is located in central London, and will allow us to provide hosting solutions much superior to those which we offer at the moment. We will be much less tied to the datacentre, and will be able to resolve problems ourselves much more quickly and effectively.
We aim to do this with minimal impact on your account, and we shall leave your account on Gaia, our existing server for a good period of time to ensure a smooth transition. Once migrated, should there be a problem, we can return your account instantly to Gaia until the problems are resolved. We may need to change your account password in order to migrate it effectively, however, we would communicate this to you immediately.
The only change that some account holders may need to make is their nameservers - if you are using thebase.co.uk nameservers, there is no need to change, however, if you are using the 'white label' nameservers such as ns1.rack23.net, you will need to do this before we decommission Gaia - we will contact all account holders prior to this if they are still using non-standard nameservers.
Good news for resellers, our new server will be entirely 'white label', with our new brand of nameservers, rapiserv.com
We shall tell you more as soon as the server has been thoroughly tested and is ready for use.
